Bitfinex Securities raised $50M via ALKN, a tokenized security tied to $1.64B in nickel. The raise tops its previous $30M record and keeps additional tokens open through Oct. 15.
Bitfinex Securities has raised $50 million through ALKN, a tokenized security backed by nickel holdings. The transaction is the largest capital raise completed on the platform, the companies said in an announcement on Thursday.
The ALKN token represents limited partnership interests in Alkemya Metacore SCSp, a Luxembourg vehicle that owns about 7 million meters of 99.99% pure nickel wire. The nickel inventory has been independently valued at about $1.64 billion, according to the companies.
Bitfinex Securities' previous record was a $30 million raise through USTBL, a tokenized product tied to short-term U.S. Treasuries. The platform has now completed seven capital raises and listed 16 assets, based on figures it provided.
ALKN is Alkemya's first tokenization project, an Alkemya spokesperson said. Eligible investors receive fractional interests in the Luxembourg partnership in digital form, with the tokens designed to be transferable between eligible holders.
The proceeds are expected to fund the commercialization of engineered nickel products for industrial uses, including semiconductor applications. The structure gives Alkemya capital against its existing nickel holdings without requiring the company to sell the full underlying asset position.
Additional ALKN tokens remain available to eligible investors through Oct. 15. Secondary trading will not start until at least the completion of the next fundraising tranche, the companies said.
The transaction comes as tokenized commodities have expanded beyond precious-metal products. Bitfinex research cited a roughly $7 billion tokenized commodity market, up nearly 600% since early 2025. Tokenized commodities are increasingly used as onchain collateral across centralized platforms and decentralized finance protocols, Bitfinex said.
Bitfinex Securities operates under El Salvador's Digital Asset Law. The National Commission of Digital Assets lists the securities entity under registration PSAD-0001, with permitted business including issuance and trading infrastructure for tokenized financial products.
Earlier tokenized deals on the platform included a $6.25 million debt offering for a Hampton by Hilton hotel near El Salvador International Airport, issued on Liquid Network with a five-year term and 10% annual return. In 2023, Bitfinex Securities launched ALT2611, a 36-month security denominated in USDT for a Luxembourg securitization fund managed by Mikro Kapital, targeting $10 million with a 10% coupon.
In November 2025, Tether's Hadron tokenization platform, KraneShares and Bitfinex Securities announced a tokenized capital markets partnership. Under the deal, Bitfinex Securities would provide regulated infrastructure and support access to secondary-market liquidity for tokenized products.
The broader crypto market analysis shows tokenized real-world assets gaining traction. The Alkemya deal demonstrates how physical commodities can be brought onchain through a partnership-interest structure, with the legal investment interest placed onchain while the underlying nickel inventory remains held through the Luxembourg vehicle.
Under the current timetable, additional ALKN tokens are available to eligible investors through Oct. 15, while secondary trading is scheduled to stay closed until at least the completion of the next fundraising tranche.
