Binance warned users on Monday about a rise in phishing attacks through fake text messages. The exchange said it has seen an increase in fraudulent "security alert" messages designed to steal account access.
The messages claim that a user's account settings have been changed or that suspicious activity was detected, according to Binance. They include shortened malicious links and pressure recipients to act quickly by asking them to "verify" or "secure" their accounts via the links, the exchange added.
