Binance has launched Agent OS, a developer platform that lets AI agents access market data and execute trades on the exchange. The tool also supports payments and onchain wallet interactions.
According to a company announcement, the platform works with AI models including ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. Users authorize agents to view account information and place trades within configured permissions and limits. Agents can be assigned to dedicated subaccounts to keep funds separate, and users can revoke access at any time.
Binance said it can monitor trades placed through Agent OS but cannot see an agent's external information sources or decision-making, which happen inside the user's chosen AI application.
The launch puts Binance alongside other exchanges that have opened their trading infrastructure to AI agents. Coinbase released Coinbase for Agents in June, letting models like ChatGPT connect to user accounts and execute trades autonomously. That tool also supports agent-driven payments through Coinbase's x402 protocol.
Kraken took a different route in July, unveiling an AI-powered investing assistant that monitors markets and recommends trades based on a user's goals and risk preferences but requires approval before executing.
OKX went further, launching a beta marketplace where AI agents can find work, transact autonomously and hire other agents, using stablecoin payments and an onchain reputation system.
Several industry leaders have argued that AI agents will eventually drive a large share of onchain activity. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire have both made that case. Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao described cryptocurrency as the "native currency" of AI agents.
